Overview
If you used to pay into the LGPS and have neither transferred your benefits to a new pension provider nor yet received payment of your benefits, you have either a deferred refund or deferred benefits. Both form an important part of your retirement savings plan.
Depending on the amount of time you were a member of the LGPS, you may not have qualified for deferred benefits. If this is so, you may have a deferred refund.

If you have deferred benefits, your pension fund administrator will provide you with details of the value of your deferred benefits on leaving and an annual statement of your deferred benefits each year thereafter, so you can see how their value increases every year.
